Arick Wierson

Principal, Channel Production Films

Arick Wierson is a principal of Channel Productions, and resident Executive Producer for its film arm, Channel Productions Films. Mr. Wierson’s responsibilities include conceptualization and early stage creative development, production management, and marketing. His current portfolio of projects is focused on documentary feature films for theatrical distribution, broadcast, and streaming platforms. Wierson is perhaps best known in the United States as an on-air TV political pundit and business columnist for CNN and NBC News, among several major outlets. Wierson has extensive global business development experience that spans Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Israel, The Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

After beginning his career in investment banking at JP Morgan in New York City and later in São Paulo, Brazil, from 2001 through 2009, Wierson served as a senior political and communications advisor to New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. During this time, he created and led NYC Media Group, the largest publicly owned broadcast entity in the United States while winning six Emmy awards for his work producing several documentaries, including Back Door Channels: The Price of Peace featuring U.S. President Jimmy Carter.

From 2009 through 2016, Wierson worked in Africa, principally Angola, leading several private ventures, including the establishment of the country’s first fashion mall and several private-public partnerships (PPPs) that supported the Angolan government’s efforts in an array of sectors including tourism, media, and sustainability.

Wierson graduated cum laude from Georgetown University with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Foreign Service with concentration in Latin American Regional Studies. He received a Master’s Degree in International Economics in Brazil at the UNICAMP as a Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholar representing the State of Minnesota. He speaks fluent Spanish and is bilingual in Portuguese and English.
