Matthew Tollin ESQ.

Matthew Tollin is a principal of Channel Productions and a resident Executive Producer for its film arm, Channel Production Films. As an experienced media executive with an extensive private entertainment law practice, he has advised established entertainment professionals, notably the producing/songwriting team Ashford and Simpson.

At NYC Media Group in New York City, Mr. Tollin served both as General Counsel to the group and General Manager of its radio station, 91.5 FM Radio New York. As General Counsel, he handled legal affairs, led budget and finance operations for the programming divisions, and oversaw the development and national distribution of Secrets of New York and Blueprint | New York City, and other shows. As GM of Radio New York, Mr. Tollin supervised the overhaul of the station’s programming and operations, overseeing its technical transition from analog to HD radio.

An alumnus of Georgetown University and Harvard Law School, Mr. Tollin joined the New York office of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton. There he worked on international/equity/debt offerings, complex derivative transactions, media and Intellectual Property licensing matters, and film finance and distribution. Subsequently, Mr. Tollin accepted a position as General Counsel within the New York City Council, where he introduced several significant campaign finance reforms and other government initiatives.

Mr. Tollin, also a contributing editor for Global Injustice, “Africa” (July 2001), frequently lectures on public interest law issues. Currently an Adjunct Professor at The City College of New York, he teaches “Introduction to the Law: Legal Reasoning and Philosophy.”

Mr. Tollin is a member of the City Bar Association, New York Bar and is licensed to practice law in New York State and the Federal Courts. An active member of his local Community Board, he serves as an Executive Board Member of the NAACP and a Member of the Board of the American Society of the University of Haifa.
